Message from the Director

Welcome to the online home of the Manatee High School Band Program in Bradenton, Florida. The MHS Band program aims to provide students with a well-rounded instrumental music education through participation in one of our ensembles. Our ensembles have traveled around the world and have been recipients of many awards and accolades. There are many opportunities for participation from beginning to advanced musicians, from dancers to color guard members. We are proud to represent Manatee High School in a positive way in many events throughout the year. Please browse this site for more information on our program and be sure to check back often for updates and upcoming events. Be sure to contact me at any time with any questions you may have about our program.

Musically yours,

Weekly Updates

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I want to congratulate all of our concert band students on 3 great performances at MPA this past Friday and Saturday. All three groups have shown huge improvements this year. We now prepare for our Spring Concert on April 23. We will also be taking our solo & ensemble qualifiers and Jazz Band 1 to State on March 26 at Cooper City High School.

This Thursday, March 12, we are hosting Middle School Concert MPA at Manatee. We are in need of students and parents to volunteer to help make this event run smoothly. The event is only one day and will run from 2:30pm – 9pm. There is a sign-up sheet in the band room for students to volunteer and parents can contact Mark Mattison or Robby Bennett if you are available to help. Please help us out to ensure a great experience for our guests.

Have a great week everyone! Go ‘Canes!
